Subject: Teddy's

Teddy's isn't shut down is it? I called both numbers. One didn't pick up and the other said there's a disconnect. Are they closed on Sundays?

  • Nooooooooooo! I still dream of those unhealthy lemon-butter potatoes! =P~

  • so I just searched "Teddy's" and this is the post that came up. I called to order today and the guy on the phone said that they would soon be serving pizza as well. Just thought I'd share.
  • This place must do a good takeout business. Whenever I'm there, there is no one in the place, but the cooks and delivery guys are busy/

It is kind of a shame, because they have a huge (for the area) dining room, and a nice outdoor eating area. I guess it isn't expensive enough fare for people to want to sit down.

....or maybe people don't associate this end of Washington Ave with "Dining", only take out?
  • I agree. I've never eaten in, but when I walk past I always wonder why that is.

I wish it was "fancier" greek food if you will. I lovelovelove greek food, but a sandwich or a slice of spinach pie isn't usually worth the walk for me. i just order take-out.
  • I've eaten in the back garden- it's really nice back there- I totally recommend it. They've changed their name somewhat now- I think it's called Teddy's Tavern. Guess they're going at it from a different angle. I didn't notice any dramatic interior changes though, such as a bar, thereby making it truly a tavern by definition, so not sure other than the name change what's making it a tavern now.

Not a Greek food fan per se, but I love the lemon potatoes and grilled shrimp. Nom.
  • good, solid food. a big favorite with out-of-town guests who are getting overwhelmed -- a/c in the summer, lots of space, lots of food at a reasonable price.

    i hope they aren't closing.
