  • Hello to all my Friends on this blog,

It's a shame that we all have to go through some tough times & we wounder why this is happening to us but this is life and we all go thought it at one time or another.

To day it was a huge stepping stone in my life & I would like to share it with each and every one of you we have been hearing so many sad & negative things on the blog.

Today my Family & I & the Family of my Kidney Brother celebrated our second Birthday not the day we were born but today it has been five years since we have received the gift of life from a man we did not even know who passed away in Colorado thank God his Mother was strong enough to believe that it would save someone's life if she donated his organs and I count my blessings every day & I say a small prayer because that man that I did not know saved my life & my Kidney Brother.( if you never read our story click on the link at the bottom of post)

This is a month in my life that I use to hate last year on 12/8/2009 I had my leg amputated during this year I was determined not to be confined to a wheel chair one year later I look back and remember how afraid I was to continue life but here we are and I am walking just fine no one would ever know that Ii only had one leg unless I told them as many of you know Ii will never forget all the times I was down and came on the blog and spoke to my friends I would like to say thank you & God Bless you all.

  • Good Morning All,

    Had to log in again.

Fred your story was beautiful and is beautiful and it touched my heart.

Makes u put things into perspective. I sweat the small stuff all the time and it is a waste of energy....You have been through so much and I look up to you and so proud of you. You have been through so much and look at where u r now. This story gives people hope when they feel they have nothing left because of an illness or certain things going on in their lives.

    Anna sorry for your loss.

Umbria did get my message that I got your generous check for the basket,Maryann and Judy also Thank you it helped pay for it.

Novena to Mary, Shopping with my Mia (maybe.)

Mia is so excited. She received sneakers that light up that she wanted and she has them on with her p.j.'s. Has not taken them off all weekend. lol Ah the joyss of being a child and loving the simple things in life...

Thank you for sharing such a beautiful story. Love you much...

  • Just got this in an email...

Ps found an Old Photo Of me and my cousin Thom Spennato Playing at a block party in 1974....try to post it tonight.

  • Hi Jerry,

you know first hand how difficult it gets being an amputee

your Brother frank (BUGSY) I always looked up to him and thinking to my self WOW look at him he is doing great I spent many a day & night enjoying his company in the 3 star & in the club on 6th Ave & 21ST.

A quick story which gave me so much strength to continue in life. One summer Sunday afternoon we had a stick ball game on 6th Ave & during the game Bugsy was up at the plate & my Brother in law Alfred held him up so he could take off his prosthesis and try to hit the ball with it, well we all had a good laugh but in reality Bugsy was showing us how strong he really was, I often have spoken about Bugsy during this year when I visit St.Anna's on 5Th Ave & 21 St. there isn't to many guys left from from that error. But we still play cards on Monday nights.

God Bless & have a wonderful healthy holiday.
