Hi-that's quite a story..I also remember the crash...too bad it took 50 years for the memorial..Warren-it was 9 degrees this morning with a chill factor of minus 1...the 8 inches of snow I had here from the weekend is still around...38 degrees sounds great to me..LOL..hope everyone has a great day..........

9 degrees in Illinois in December is a lot closer to normal then 38 degrees in Tampa Bay. It may sound warm to you but quite frankly after you are down here a few years, (we are here 13 years) you feel freezing at anything lower then 60 degrees. On top of that I take Coumadin which thins the blood and makes you feel colder. My main point was a lot of people get the idea they are going to come down here,go on the beach & go swimming in the Gulf. Even the Manatees will not swim in the water when it is this cold. They come into inlets by the power plants where they discharge warm water. We have a large sanctuary near us in Apollo beach Florida and I bet it is loaded with Manatee right now.

I am not sure what year Carol's Mother retired from Methodist Hospital. She worked all shifts in admitting. Her name is Ruth Haaser. Just curious as to whether you remember her from when you worked there. She of course is considerably older then you but maybe there was an overlap with you working in the Hospital before she retired.

17 days until Christmas...

17 days to Christmas! Yikes - I better get a move on. I put my cute little Charlie Brown tree up and all the lights blew out - oh well. I'll buy a new one for next year.

Thanks again for all the prayers for my cousin who was buried on Monday on a very cold, gray, snowflurryish day. But, for every time there's sadness, there's happiness. My niece Suzanne gave birth to her 3rd son - Cole Justin - last night at 6:59pm. He weighed in 8lbs. 15oz. All are doing well. Cole joins in brothers Jake and Ethan.

Can't find "Reply" or "Quote" on a message anymore. Anyway, Ruth Haaser worked in Admissions on all shifts and Carol thinks she did not retire until about 1980. She walked to and from work from 13th Street just below 4th Ave even when she worked nights She still lives there.
