Hoarders this week — Brooklynian

Hoarders this week

Did you see Hoarders last night with the crazy guy who climbed a tree to get away from everyone including his crazy brother and crazy homeless squatter? My question is while I knew it was in NY, I assumed it was upstate or LI somewhere but my friend said the cops who came were NYPD- so, do you know where this guy lives?

  • I saw the episode also. They said the homes were worth 700,000 dollars to over a million. I saw the NYPD patrol car and was wondering the same thing.I tried slowing down the playback but couldnt see the pct on the patrol car. That was pretty sad how he was oblivious to the dangerous overcrowded conditions. His brother was a trip also.I can't imagine his 90 yr old day living out his last days in that house. He died of pneumonia cause it probably lacked adequate heat.

  • Since its a suburban area that also had apartment buildings I think we're talking Pelham area, possibly Bronxville (both are in the Bronx). Could be somewhere in Queens (Bayside) as well.

That shit was disgusting! The homeless guy?!?! With the condoms and the bucket 'o shit?!?!? Un. Real.

  • Another message board I read has speculated Kew Gardens or Forrest Hills.

  • Whatchu, I didn't see apartments, did you? I don't remember any area of the Bronx like that- I too was thinking Bayside or Whitestone or one of those Queens nabes that is right next to Nassau county.

  • Tell you the truth I thought it could be that area in Bk around the parade grounds. Large free standing homes on open lots.

  • what was the title of this episode, does anyone know? was it the Andrew/Shania episode # 37?

I missed it but want to catch it on the Hoarders website.

  • Bronxville isn't in the Bronx, it's in Westchester county.

  • Yea, Canyon- technically, you're correct- in Westchester...but barely.

Scar-ho- if you look in the background, there's an apartment building (not on the same block as the Horder house, but on one clearly nearby).

I say no to Forrest Hills only because the architecture there is predominantly Tudor style- I didn't see one house/apt building in any shot that was in that style- and you can't spit in that nabe without hitting a Tudor.
