I keep thinking about this guy in Costco yesterday.

He had to be in his 70's

He had 2 dozen of roses

(1 for his wife/1 for his mother-in-law)

and a 37in flat screen TV in his cart...

He said, "I just came in for flowers!"

I thought to myself, Im sure he is gonna love

watching Football with that screen....LOL!

Hi-if you're reading this Terry-I'm jealous-bask in that warm sunshine (I hope) when you get down to Fla. It's in the 30's here, blue skies, cleaned & went grocery shopping..will be close to 40 this week-I think here in Chicago the worst might be over (yeah,right!) Nothing could beat that blizzard 10 days ago..Now those 5 foot snow drifts are turning into slush! Going to relax with a fire,hot chocolate, and a Lifetime movie..sounds good, doesn't it? Talk to everyone soon. enjoy the weekend..bye

Ode to a Snow Storm

Twas a late winter night and the fluffy snow was landing silently

It looked so pretty, like feathers drifting down to a planned spot

How could anything that looked so poetic and made such a lovely scene

Turn into a nightmare, snarling traffic and disrupting lives a lot

Break out the shovels, start up the plows call in the workers to move it away

We can’t have everything stop, people must work and they have to get going

Can you imagine the chaos if everything stopped for a whole day!

People would have time for their families instead of the grind

They actually could talk instead of a quick hello and goodbye

Go next door and Help the neighbor, she’s elderly you know

You have not seen her all winter and you don’t know why

Turn on the tube and hear the mayor give his report

“We were not prepared for what we got, it was only supposed to be a little

The streets will be clear very soon or I will find out” is his retort

A day goes by and things change so much, the snowmen are built

The snowballs have been thrown, most streets are clear, the trains are running

It almost like it never happened, the blizzard was over,

Some people were even prepared for some good old sunning

So the fluffy flakes which caused such a stir, now become slush & mush

It’s not pretty anymore, the glamour is long gone from our view

The picture postcard is only a memory to keep in our mind

The best parts of the time, talking, helping neighbors are now all through

Hi-loved the poem Warren-Patsy-just finished 2 books by Nicholas Sparks-True Believer & the sequal(?) At First Sight..great writer...had my fireplace on & watched Lifetime Movies..just took Cody out-it is so clear & actually seems warm outside (that's scary) no gloves, scarf or hat (first time in weeks) Getting a haircut tomorrow & going to the mall(Jessica's birthday is the 24th) & have to figure out what to get her..up late tonight-so I'll say goodnight & will talk to u tomorrow.....bye
