Fred, Sorry to disilousion you & everybody else up there but if Terry had come here a month ago she would have run into AM temps in the high 20's & low 30's. Afternoons were only in the 40 to 50's range. At least now while AM is still in the high 40's they are promising us afternoons in the 70's. This winter was bad everywhere. The big difference is we do NOT get snow. At one point last month there was snow on the ground in 49 states. Florida had none though cold enough. You do NOT swim in the Gulf or Ocean all winter here unless you are a Polar Bear. Now Miami & Naples are warmer then Tampa Bay, but while warmer then here, it was even cold there this winter. :rendeer: :scratch:

Well Bobby's tests came back good, no clogged arteries, now he has to go to his regular doctor to see if he needs meds for his blood pressure.

I went back to the doctor the other day and my sugar is sky high....she put me on meds for three months to see if we can bring it down and I started a serious diet.....no wonder I have been feeling like shit for so many weeks now..I feel like someone drained my blood. lol

Well I hope I have the strength to stay on this diet, so far so good...

Hey Judy, Please pay attention to the Doctor when it comes to diet for Diabetes. I have been lucky. It runs in my family and I have seen the damage it can do. I have had a lot of other problems but my Glucose level is reasonably good. By the way I remember one time when my Brother went for his checkup and the Doctor did a test. He said to my brother "what did you eat on such & such a date". It was weeks before. They could tell from the test exactly when he went off the diet. My Sister was on Insulin shots for a long time. So was my Mother & my Aunt (My Mothers sister). That was back before they started to control it with diet alone in many people. If ignored, it can damage many, many important parts of your body.

Patsy, congrats for staying off the butts and sticking with your diet. I quit smoking in 1963 cold turkey. The weight is a problem partially due to some of my medications and partially because I am so damn old that my Metabolism prevents me from losing. I could use more excercise but even there I have to be careful because some of my medications make me dizzy if I overdue. It can become a rat race when you get older so all of you do all you can while you can!!! :colors:

Hi Warren, Thanks for the advice, I know it is scary, my mom and grandmother both had diabetes, so I know I have to be very carefull.

Patsy - I am sorta of following, weight watchers, my sister and brother in law are on it, he has weight watchers in work, isn't that great, so he gives me and my sister all the recepes and I am trying to count points.

I really did not want to start with medication, but my doctor insisted, she said lets do it for three months and see how it goes....so I have to give it my all....
