  • Anthony-I got my first baseball from Belmonts as a gift for my mother buying me an Easter suit. If we could not find Easter clothes in Belmonts we went down to A&S on Fulton St and went to the basement store.I do not know if the tradition of new Easter clothes is still around.

72nd precint-I was there twice. Once for a Polio shot when there was a scare in the early 50's and once when my car was broken into and I had to claim what was stolen from my car. They had a beautiful staircase that went to the second floor where I understand that a few un-cooperative guys fell down the whole flight.

Jerry-That Sunday afternoon baseball in Park Circle produced several players who made it to the big leagues. The scouts used to show up and take a long hard look. As for me I enjoyed the games and bought a Good Humor Creamsicle. Can still taste it today in my memories. Sorry that I can't help on the St Annas Club. I grew up on 12th st and seldom wandered past 15th Street until I was old enough to drive. Then of course I was cruising for chicks and not looking for clubs... :?

St. Anna I remember as well. She was in the corner of the right side of the church in that little grotto, they say she has My Great Grandmas Earring on for years and later on they took them and put them away afraid someone would steal them.

  • Good Morning All,

Finally feeling better. I do not know what the heck it is. Every time I come home from Florida with that long drive i am so sick the next day with a very bad headache and vomiting for an entire day. This has happened the last 2 times. Maybe it is that long ride home 17 and a half hours... thank god I feel much better today. It was so nice to have to read some pages again like the old days...Still have to go back and read..
