Good Morning All,
Finally feeling better. I do not know what the heck it is. Every time I come home from Florida with that long drive i am so sick the next day with a very bad headache and vomiting for an entire day. This has happened the last 2 times. Maybe it is that long ride home 17 and a half hours... thank god I feel much better today. It was so nice to have to read some pages again like the old days...Still have to go back and read..TERRY, SOUNDS LIKE MOTION SICKNESS, YOU MIGHT TRY DRAMAMINE OR SOMETHING SIMILAR FOR THE NEXT TRIP.

Maryann,
I love the girl that was on last, the blond that sang with Steven Tyler the first night.
My son knows Pia Tuscano's cousin. She was Fantastic last night. As sick as I was I kept popping my head up to see them sing.LOL
I like so many of the girls and most of the guys....
I did not get to see the guys sing Tuesday I was on the road.
I was thinking of you on the ride home. I could not remember where you lived. Probably passed right by you and passed Danny's house in Delaware. lol I miss the warm weather!!! -
HI, YES GIVE ME A CALL THE NEXT TIME YOU DRIVE BY, WE ARE 1 HR. FROM 95---MAYBE WE CAN MEET UP. IS PIA TUSCANO FROM NY, SHE IS AWESOME, WOW, SOME VOICE!!!! I THINK THERE WAS ONE THAT DIDN'T SOUND TOO GOOD.

Terry-Yes there was a Loft's candy store on 5th Ave near 9th st.
I am glad I got the memories thing going again. I lived several blocks from most of you so many of our memories are different. Doesn't matter. Memories of growing up in Brooklyn are impossible to replace. Last time I visited the old neighborhood (2009) about the only thing that was exactly where it was 60 years ago was the newspaper stand on the corner of 9th Street and 5th Ave and the Prospect Park YMCA. The 9th St side of the Prospect is a food store and the 8th St side is a Condo building. I read that the entrance to the condo building is in the same place that the stage door was back in the Vaudeville days. Of course PS 124's is still on 4th Ave between 13th & 14th Street. I went there from 1st through 6th Grade before I went to PS40's on 16th Street (long gone)My Mother in Law who is 95 years old went to PS124's and lives right down the block from the school. Of course the house I grew up in on 12th Street is still there. Only God knows how old that building is but it was completely renovated in the early 2000's. The house next to it was partially demolished and changed to condo apartments. I believe it is 4 stories high. One of the apartments was on sale recently for $1,200,000. We sold our house in 1960 for $8200. After expenses each of us (siblings) received $2000. Times sure change.

Terry-The old Goat (NAG) here. A long time ago I suggested you NOT make the trip straight through. Driver gets tired, passenger gets sick. Dillon S.C. is half way from NY/NJ to your condo. Consider staying overnight one time and see if it makes a difference as to how you feel when you get there. We even started staying over 2 nights when I got to be an old fart. One night in southern Virginis and one night in Georgia. But a 1 night stay is a suggestion I would give to anyone!!! There are several Motels in Dillon and I amsure you could find one that you would be happy with.
Back to Memories--Most of you are too young for this but some may remember the Air Raid Drills &'BLACKOUTS" during WWII when we had to cover all our windows and if the Air Raid Warden could see light through your windows he would knock on your door and tell you to put those lights out!!! Late in the war we had drills in school where we had to climb under the desk and close our eyes in case of an Atomic attack. 8-[

PATSY, THE SHOW WAS SO GOOD LAST NIGHT, HATED TO SEE JOVANY AND ROBBIE LEAVE AND SOME OF THE GIRLS, THEY WERE LIKE ONE BIG FAMILY. SHOULD BE INTERESTING NEXT WEEK.
WELCOME BACK KAREN!
28 DEGREES HERE THIS MORNING, MIGHT GO OUT FOR A SHORT WALK JUST TO GET SOME AIR, 50 NOW.
HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND!!!!
-
Yes Mary Ann. As a matter of fact Holy Family was right next door to PS 124 school yard. Holy Family School & rectory on 14th St & the Church on 13th St. I believe Holy Family Church is still open but the school is long gone. I used to walk home with friends from my block. Some went to 124's and some to Holy Family. One day I was walking up 14th St and a nun yelled at me to get with the group on the sidewalk. She said it with such authority that I did not argue with her. Got with the group from Holy Family and walked up the block!!! Despite my being Protestant the Priest used to let me go to Ebbets Field with the CYO. He would call me "his little protestant guest".
