HEY SUZIE HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOUR DOLL SAMANTHA

WELL I HOPE YOU ARE ALL OUT ENJOYING THIS DAY

  • Hello All. The restaurant we went to did NOT have Lamb on the Menu. Had a Prime Rib that was not half bad. They did have their napkins folded like rabbits with ears but otherwise just another Sunday there. The drinks are two for one on Sunday so maybe after two Manhattans anything would have tasted good. Carol had the same as me except that she had Iced Tea, not Manhattans. Anthony, glad to hear your Easter worked out well. Your dinner sounded real good. You are right. Tradition means a lot. I hope we can keep some of them going. I sure would not like to give up Turkey on Thanksgiving for a Bologna sandwich! Suzie, It is hard to believe you have a Grandaughter three years old. You must have been a child bride!!! :D-Y

  • Hello all my Blog Friends,

I have been reading back to see what I missed I am very happy you all had a blessed easter & all the trimmings wet well. We had an extra large group of Family that came to eat for Easter this year, A lot of work for my Wife & Daughter & Granddaughters but it was worth it.

As soon as all our company left, we started backing & now we are in Atlantic City for a week rented a nice chalet from Marriott my wife need the get away ahhhhhheeeemmmmm & so do i. LOL

    Enjoy :-)

  • Hey Fred, How far are the casinos from your chalet?

Win some dough for me will you? Actually we are not far from the Seminole Hard Rock Casino & Hotel in Tampa. They keep improving it and the casino floor is now huge. It used to be not much more then a bingo parlor. Now it ranks pretty close to the best of them. Have not been to AC in many years. Once after a trip north to see family , we stayed at Show Boat a couple of nights on the way home. Before the Casinos it was a great summer place. Used to go to conventions and stayed in different hotels each time. There were plenty of good places to eat. Captain Starns and Hackneys for example. Once the Casinos took over Carol & I would go to Harrah's or Showboat, which ever offered the best deal, like a meal coupon, show tickets, discounted room. Funny part is we are not "high rollers" at all. Maximum for us were the quarter machines. No tables, cards etc:. Yet they still gave us a room cheap and the above mentioned comps. ENJOY!!! 8-[

  • Hi All,

  • Hi again Warren, I am not sure how this thingee works, would like to post a picture but my computer crashed two weeks ago and I lost all my pictures, I'll have to get one of my kids to take another one.

I have lived in AZ since 1999 when my husband, Herb, retired.

We have 3 children, 6 grands, and 1 great grands. It's the great grand thatmakes me feel old.

    Pauline

  • P.S. Another problem that I have is the time difference because I am on the West coast and Brooklynis on the

    east Coast

  • Hello Pauline. This blog is made up of a bunch of swell people who grew up mostly between 15th St and the mid 20's. Some of them still live there. I was trying to find people from my old block (12th St) but when I could not find any from my era, the folks on this blog sort of adopted me. We have a lot in common except that most of them are younger then me and some live in Brooklyn, Staten Island and then stretch across the country. I did find a couple of people who went to our church on 12th Street. I knew their extended family.

In the West Coast of Florida we are on the same time as NY/NJ so that has not posed a problem. Being this far from the children (who of course are all adults now) and our grandchildren causes some loneliness. No Great Grands yet but we do have two Grandchildren in college. In the last year I lost one brother and my sister. My other Brother died a few years ago so I am the last of my generation. The only old DeMolay brother I hear from is Al Breitenbach and that is just a Christmas card. Most of the others that I was close with have passed away.

If you wanted to communicate directly my e-mail address is [email protected] but I have no problem with talking through this blog. The only warning I have is that they talk a lot about food. I gain weight just reading some of the messages.

To the rest of our blog members Pauline is a voice from my past when we were all growing up in Brooklyn. Yes she is from good old Brooklyn also. 8)
