Missing Cat in Bed Stuy

I'm posting this for my friend. His cat has been missing for a week now and he thinks that someone has taken her in. Her name is Tulip, she's about 10 months old, friendly but shy.

Last seen May 15th on Lafayette Ave between Bedford and Nostrand Aves.

If found please call Ben

  • Make sure your friend posts flyers everywhere and continues to post. Maybe offer a "reward". Report the cat missing to 311 and on Craig's List. Was Tulip spayed? If not then she probably wandered to find a mate.

  • Yeah he put 20 posters up in his area and a post on CL, and he'll be putting more posters up tomorrow probably. She isn't spayed yet and she was a stray, he actually thinks the same thing, that she went into heat, but that perhaps someone else took her in thinking she was stray. It's not so much that he's worried that she's not being taken care of or she's in danger, more that someone else took in his cat for their own! heh

  • You could also post on Brownstoner.com. There are alot of owners in the hood who would be more alert/sensitive to stray cats.

  • Tell your friend to go out late at night and look for stray cats. Take some jack mackerel or sardines, something very smelly and oily. Leave it somewhere close by, cats will find it. Hopefully your friend's cat will be one of them. Also, check the basements of the buildings near by. A woman lost her cat in Brooklyn Heights and found it in the basement of the building next door a week later.

  • Mods you can close this thread, he found the cat while wandering a few blocks from his house a couple of days ago. The cat was gone for 3-4 weeks in all and is now missing its tail! Weird.

  • Glad he found the cat... tail or no tail!
