    I woke up this morning around 3:30 and saw two fire trucks on Washington. I knew it was serious because the one closest to Sterling was connected to the hydrant. An hour later, I spotted a news truck (Channel 4?) parked across the street. Scary.

    According to the article boyfriend claims she's fallen asleep before with a lit butt so you'd have think she would have learned. Unfortunately this was bound to catch up to her.

    It's also time to not smoke if your pregnant, not smoke around children, and not fall asleep with a cigarette in your mouth.

    True. I suspect smoke detectors have little impact when the fire is occurring in the bed you are laying in.

    They would go off too late.

    ...primary prevention is always more effective than tertiary.
