Helicopter, sirens over EP/Washington?

i saw what looked like a black helicopter circling around from about 8 to 9 this morning (weds, 6/15). is that what you're talking about? from where i was i couldn't make out any markings, nypd or otherwise.

what kind of scanner do you have ... or even better what would you recommend to use in the area?

This thread caused me to visit gothamist again, where I saw this completely unrelated incident:

I wish to go on record that it would suck to be shot through the ceiling.
