PARK SLOPE RAPIST STRIKES AGAIN!

So far this year Park Slope has had 2 reported incidences of attempted rape. I say reported because most of the time the victims do not bother reporting the sexual assaults. Whether the same rapist was involved in the two prior events is unknown but police believe it is the same person.

Before going on my daily jog this morning I came upon several police cars parked down the block from my home. There were few on lookers but I was informed by a tenant of [# removed by Mods] Prospect Park West that a fellow female tenant was sexually assaulted upon exiting the park on 3rd street. If this incident did indeed happen then this would be the 3rd sexual assault in south Bklyn [#edited by mods] in Park Slope-area in 6 months time.

Why hasn't this rapist been caught yet?

    As shocking as it might sound, the rapist was pulling up his pants and not picking up any stick. He was already trying to mount her right there on the sidewalk. This rapist was not worried about witnesses. Even with all the screaming the victim did he was hell bent on getting his jollies off. If the owner of the camera did not come outside he would have managed to penetrated her. This rapist is determined and that is what makes him especially dangerous.

    Not to diminish the seriousness of the crime you have posted, but there have been 3 sexual assaults and one rape since March 2010 (the video you posted). All of them (so far) have occurred between Sunset Park, Green-Wood Hts. and South park Slope. This would be the first for PS proper.

    I am sure the 72nd Pct. and 78th Pct. are working in tandem on this...but there have NOT been 3 rapes in the area.

    Trying to stop the spread of misinformation, which has been epidemic. And rightfully so, folks are scared.

    The only word that comes to mind is "NAIVE".

    You might as well bury your head in the sand and keep believing that you are hidden from the rest of the world. The sad reality is that crime knows no boundaries. You seem to revel in the fact that rape is supposedly misclassified as happening in your neck of the woods. How wrong you are. Look at the crime states of Brooklyn alone and you will see that rape and sexual assault is on the incline. That imaginary bubble you think surrounds and protects your community is fictitious. You are shuffling the chairs on the Titanic by stating that these crimes occurred in other parts of Brooklyn when in fact you miss the point. Any sexual assault in Brooklyn is too close for me and the same should apply to you.

    That video was CHILLING. I used to live down by 17th on PPW, and one night while coming home late, I was accosted by 2 dudes hanging out on the corner. Good thing I was able to get my ass in the front door and lock them out.

    I feel horrible for that girl.

    I think another incident occurred last night in Prospect park involving a young woman. I witnessed as she was led to the ambulance crying. Police cars were everywhere with their lights and sirens on looking for some hoodlums. I won't be walking my dog there at night anymore.

    AP, that's pretty vague. Where were the cars, what time? There was a concert in the park last night, and they always have a large number of uniformed officers out for those events, and often they ride around with lights on. Hopefully it was this.

    Just watched the news, that there is a serial groper in Manhattan who is being sought after for his egregious behavior. Not to long ago a similar incident happened to me in Prospect Park but I chocked it up to a mistake but now I am thinking twice. It was my fault for allowing a stranger to invade my private space.

    Now I am more aware of my surroundings and rightfully so.

    In all my life I never heard of a man reporting a crime after being groped by a woman. I am assuming you are a male and being such I will conclude that you would enjoy such an event but I am not a man and any such unwarranted touching on my body is not welcomed.
