Two cats found in Prospect Park (SAD)
I regret to inform the animal lovers of this forum that earlier today 2 dead cats were discovered within the hoarded property of a homeless person.
At around 9:30am myself and several other onlookers called 911 regarding a homelss man who was acting irrational at the playground of 11 street and Prospect Park. He was talking to himself and he looked out of it. The police arrived along with the ambulance which hauled the man away. When asked about the 3 carts of junk that the man had left behind the police woman informed us that she had called the parks department to remove the property.
It was 2 hours later when the discovery of the corpses were made. Inside a plastic bag under the 3rd cart were 2 cats. Both were lifeless but their beauty remained.
FIRST CAT: Spotted(black&white) tabby that apeared to be about 1 year old.
SECOND CAT: Black/brownish cat about 2-3yrs old.
What is unknown is if these were pets of the homeless man. The Parks employee shoveling the debris stated that they looked like they were dead for about a day. They did not appear to be cut open or bleeding. He did say that he thought that they might have been strangled. The lack of a decaying oder told me that the cats had been dead for much less time.
Upon asking the parks employee if I could take charge of the corpses for a proper burial he refused and stated that it was their protocolto dispose of the bodies properly. What he did instead really pissed me off. Without respect for these once beautiful creatures he then proceeded to shovel the bodies of these majestic animals into a plastic bag and he proceeded to heave it into the rear of his truck along with the other debris. What an uncaring and callous man. I have no doubt his actions will be judged when his time of reckoning comes to pass.
No other information was provided to us regarding the homeless man. We would have liked to have known how he came about finding these cats. I only pray that he did not kill them and that he tried to take care of them. In the event that these were not his cats then the above description will bring closure to anyone who has been missing a cat and perhaps prosecution can be doled out to the homeless individual via a few charges of animal cruelty.
A prayer goes out to the cats who lost their lives today. These creatures did not deserve to be treated in such a manner.

Mamacita that is your opinion but I do not know Veets from a hole in the wall and judging by his actions I can conclude is no one I want to know. Frankly, I do not have the time or the inclination to address people who are not animal friendly. My post only served to bring about the story of these two wonderful cats. Perhaps I was a little over zealous posting the pictures of the crime but these lovely creatures deserved to have their story told and at the bare minimum if anyone was missing cats this would bring closure to their search.
Veets basically came into this thread and demanded that the story be canned. How dare he. He is obviously not one who believes in animal rights. He could have simply ignored the thread and moved on but instead he proceeded to pull on the scabs.

I love how no one really gives a shit that someone brutally killed 2 defenseless house pets. Granted I wouldn't want to see pictures of it but it's not a f*cking joke. Man, I have a serious love/hate w/ this forum but it's starting to lean farther to the hate side.

Caseo, I feel for the 2 cats, but everyone there is an assumption that the guy who had the bodies killed them. There is nothing in the original post which indicates that this in indeed the fact. It may have been that those animals were cared for by this individual and he was in the park looking for a place to bury them.
We should be careful of jumping to conclusions that there was something nefarious going on simply because the man was homeless.

1. An OP that is believed by very few people.

In other words, I don't think you are seeing that the few people who posted on this forum over the weekend (when most of the world was on vacation or posting on Facebook's new "you might be from this town if") don't care about house pets.

Maybe they're strays that died of natural causes.
