Help Find Winston the Terrier
THE NY DAILY NEWS RAN THE ARTICLE BELOW IN TODAYS PAPER - WE STILL HAVE NO LEADS ON WINSTON.
WOULD YOU KINDLY TAG AND SHARE TO EVERYONE - PLEASE KEEP THIS GOING.
A frantic hunt for his missing pooch after little Winston was apparently doggynapped by three women who convinced a cop he belonged to them.
Michael Reinhardt's bizarre tale began Friday night when his West Highland white terrier got spooked by another dog's flashing collar in Prospect Park and scampered off.
Reinhardt, 30, and his live-in girlfriend spent the next several hours scouring the park and its surrounding streets.
"We were running around for hours - literally running around," said Reinhardt, of Prospect Heights.
Winston didn't turn up.
After a sleepless night, Reinhardt called a bunch of shelters and vets in the hope that his year-old dog had been dropped off.
He received good news from the Sean Casey Animal Shelter: A young woman had called the night before, saying she found a dog that matched a description of Winston.
Flush with hope, Reinhardt called the woman, who told him she had handed off the dog to a pair of cops from the 78th Precinct.
The cops, whom she had stumbled into near Eastern Parkway, told her they would drop off the dog at a shelter in the morning.
The woman emailed Reinhardt photos of the dog, which was clearly Winston. The dog was wearing a red halter collar called the Gentle Leader.
It seemed that Reinhardt would finally be reunited with sweet Winston.
But his hopes were dashed when one of the officers told him the dog had already been given away.
A group of women showed up in a four-door sedan with Virginia plates and convinced the officer Winston was theirs, the cop told Reinhardt.
The news devastated Reinhardt and his girlfriend, Kumiko Masaoka, 30.
"Our poor little guy is with some strange people," said Reinhardt, his voice faltering. "I'm going to start crying. This is too much."
Reinhardt said he harbors no ill will toward the cop.
"The guy sounds devastated," said Reinhardt, who is a resident physician at SUNY Downstate Medical Center. "He was trying to do the right thing. I don't blame him."
Reinhardt said the officer felt so bad he helped put up flyers around Brooklyn yesterday.
Friends have pitched in as well - but last night, there was still no sign of the pooch.
"It's a nightmare," said Reinhardt. "We love him. This is a hellish day."

This is absolutely heartbreaking
I will certainly keep my eyes peeled for a dog matching Winston's description or the car's description. I hope someone knows something and will come forward in order to reunite the dog with his rightful family. -
wow why would anyone do that unless they want to get some finders fee(read about these type of crimes, where they would take dogs and then show up and said they found him and get reward).
sucks ass i hope those guys would return the dog.
