Local Artists?

Brooklyn Artist Gym in Gowanus is having a fundraiser in December which consists of work by local artists.

Also, SONYA (South of the Navy Yard) artist non-profit is a great resource of artists in CH/FG/BS. You can explore the site and hopefully find an artist whose work you love!
It's great that you want to support local artists!

My artist friend just sent me a link to the Degenerate Craft Fair, where she and many other local artists will be selling their works. I like to check out places like that and the Brooklyn Flea or the Union Square Christmas market for local art. We've gotten some of my favorite stuff from Brooklyn artists at those places (other stuff I actually ordered off of Etsy).
From the site:
A sort of anti-art fair, the Degenerate Craft Fair features over 75 artists, designers and their work. Just in time for holiday shopping, most of the items offered will cost less than $50.

And this organization looks fantastic!
Thanks so much for all this great info. I really appreciate it. I know Brooklyn is full of amazing art--sometimes I just don't know how to find it.

SupremeIan, I will respond there then. Thanks!
OpossumQueen: Thanks so much! That's great to know about. I appreciate it.

Hi Isla...
If you want to see artists' studio and buy local... check out the tours we do around NYC.
The tours are a mix of emerging and established artists with drinks reception at the end of the day with all participating artists.
We start up again in March (winter is too cold!).

Isla, you should check out the Corridor Gallery on Grand Avenue. I've been to a couple of great exhibits there and I know they have supported local artists in the past.

Brokelyn has a handy guide to good holiday markets.

You can always buy my art as well. I accept commission work too.
