Opening March 4: Clementine Bakery
Firstly, I'm not affiliated with this bakery, but I am a vegan with a sweet tooth. Just saw a post on supervegan announcing the March 4th opening but hadn't seen anything on these forums about it.
The closest bakery was Michael Allen Desserts, but they never had anything I could eat (despite tons of vegan signs on the door?) and I think they moved way up Washington by the BQE.
Also I'm from the south and have a soft spot for the name Clementine.

Where will this be? THe website linked is just a sign-up subscription page...

yeah - the supervegan site is where i found out about it/the details. That site says: Greene Avenue (at the corner of Classon) is opening its doors THIS Sunday, March 4th, at 8:00 a.m.

I don't think an all vegan bakery is going to work here. Vegan options sure, but you're really catering to a small customer base.

Wow, I am so super excited to try this place! YAY, vegan bakery! There are actually not that many places around here to find vegan baked goods, and esp. if you want to order a vegan birthday cake or something like that. Has anyone tried it yet?

I don't know that all people who stop in will know it is particularly vegan friendly (unlike places like V Spot where it is in the title) and it would be near the G train and get some morning traffic.
I believe Dun Well doughnuts is doing well (!), likely because of location near a train and offering really interesting and yummy foods. Over the holiday I stopped in for a chocolate peppermint cake doughnut that tasted like xmas!
I think to be successful this bakery will have to appeal to vegan and non vegan alike, and convenience, uniqueness, and quality will all be important. I haven't had a chance to try it yet, but if nothing else maybe this weekend. -
Who knows. I could be wrong. As an avid meat eater I went to a vegan restaurant on Atlantic called Maimonide a couple of weeks ago and was amazed at how good the food was. I wish them luck.
Howdy, Stranger!
