New Hebrew Immersion Camp

We are excited to announce we will be having a New Hebrew Immersion Camp for Children ages 4.5 -12 led by our Creative Director - Gilad Kalifa out of our Windsor Terrace location.

What: New Hebrew Immersion Camp

When: June 28th - August 17th,

Where: Kings Bay Y at Windsor Terrace, Kings Bay Y main site (in Sheepshead Bay) and more locations to come!

Who: Highly trained instructors and specialists in drama, theatre, music, art, sports.

CAMP MISSION AND GOALS

The Hebrew Immersion is a fundamental component of the camp curriculum, and is reinforced in fun and engaging activities led by experienced native-Israeli staff members and fluent Hebrew speakers. The camp will focus on making Hebrew fun by giving campers exposure to Hebrew in different mediums such as spoken word, reading, hearing the sounds of the language, memorizing text, and through interactive Hebrew games. Through the staff led activities, campers will increase their self-esteem and confidence in their ability to speak Hebrew.

As a community center the Kings Bay Y at Windsor Terrace seeks to foster and explore community relations through its Summer Day Camp. We seek to introduce the children to all of the strengths within the community and to bring quality programming into their lives by partnering with community groups and organizations. We hope that campers foster lifelong friendships and have valuable memories that will serve as positive markers throughout their childhood.

The Kings Bay Y at Windsor Terrace has some new Jewish Cultural Programming for parents and children.

(1) Join Renanit Levy for the new J-BABE Meet-up Group! The J-BABE Meet-Up Group is designed for moms and dads of newborns ages 0-3 months. Topics include conversation on common newborn issues, feeding concerns, sleep for baby and parents, childcare, health, nutrition, Jewish parenting on your own terms, and more.

(2) Join Tehilah Eisenstadt and Gilad Kalifa for J-Yum & Hum (Jewish Music, Stories and Cuisine Around the World). J-Yum & Hum provides engaging, dynamic and interactive program for parents and their infants (up to crawlers), exploring culture and tradition through stories, music, foods, storytelling of the Jewish Diaspora.

Alef, Bet, & Gilad (Hebrew Circle)

Program: Our Israeli-educated instructor uses non-traditional teaching styles and methods to integrate language and learning with children and their peers in merely 45 minutes. Children learn from each other under the structured guidance and lessons with Gilad!
