lost cute small black cat or if stray - do you want to adopt her? — Brooklynian

lost cute small black cat or if stray - do you want to adopt her?

I've made friends with this cat on Hancock st near Malcolm X - her well-kept state, friendliness & approachability make me wonder if she really is a stray or someone's lost pet. She doesn't have any of the scragginess you'd associate with a stray. I'd say I started seeing her around a month ago.

She is smaller than average (6-7 pounds), black with some white spots/white paws.

If she is a stray, I wonder if anyone who reads your blog would want to adopt her - I don't know how old she is, but seems young. I know people like to adopt small kittens, but the advantage of adopting an older cat such as this one is that her outgoing, friendly personality is apparent, unlike kittens who are ALL friendly and playful at their young age, but you'd don't want you will get when they grow up. I would love to keep her myself, but our one cat has already created enough allergy problems for my boyfriend.

  • Kateruba, may I suggest you contact the local rescue, adoption & TNR agencies as they can help you place the cat and also give you tips on where to post your found kitty. Obviously there is craigslist, but ALWAYS ask for an adoption fee as it will help dissuade bad people with ill intentions (the rescue people can fill you in on that.)

Also, if you haven't yet please get the cat checked out by a vet and see if she has a microchip. I assume you've already put out fliers and ads to see if the owner is out there?
