Do you have a link to this filing? I may know more depending on the names involved.
-
I do not have a link.
They are supposed to go before Community Board 8 tonight, which will then provide a non-binding, strictly advisory opinion to the liquor authority.
The filing should be available on CB8's page once they post it.

I know what this is, but can't say more at the moment. It is an exciting concept that would be very unique not only to the neighborhood but also Brooklyn in general. Here's hoping they get the approvals they need.

With a name like Mash, I dream of a pub that brews its own beer.
-
And with Trinidadian strippers?

No longer a secret:
This will be a whiskey bar that sells boutique, fancy whiskeys distilled in the US, and offers food. They will also sell whiskey in a attached (but separate) small liquor store.
Given the name "Mash", it all makes sense: Mash is not only a stage of beer (my first guess), but also a stage in whiskey making.
Jack, I haven't heard anything about strippers. Sorry, man.

I think "whiskey bar" is a bit of a misnomer. The intent is for this to be a tasting room, not a place where people sit around for hours at a time (it is too small for that kind of traffic). It has been a passion project for the principal owner (who owns another beloved local business) for a couple of years and I'm very excited that it is now coming together.

So noted.
I remember Cornelius (Vanderbilt and Pacific) being described as a whiskey place when it first opened.
...Is the owner one and the same?
-
Nope, Mash's owner is not involved with Cornelius. Pretty sure Mash will not have a kitchen per se. I think the idea is just to serve low-key snacks and such.
-
So noted. Thanks

It was described as a tasting room attached to a "fine American whiskey" store at the CB8 meeting.
Howdy, Stranger!
