Cats and Exercising

What is it with cats? As soon as I unfurl my yoga mat, my cats need to sit right in the middle of it. If I start stretching, they're there. Situps? Yep, right under my head.

My mom goes on her treadmill and the cat runs over and sits near it. She does her stretches on the floor and her 25 lb. cat come over and goes belly up.

Anybody else have this happen?

I'm still hoping one day I can figure out how to get them to do the situps FOR me :-)

  • I can't do push ups--she goes underneath me so I "pet" her every time I go down or she tries to jump on my back.

During exercise time kitty gets locked away.
  • One of my cats chews off bits of my yoga mat, while I'm using it. It is very distracting. I try to remember to put him out of the room first!

  • Great pics! I should take pics on the mat next time
  • That picture is hysterical, shishkab, the kitty is helping!

In my case, it's not the cats that have to bug me when I exercise. It's the dogs that think I'm playing with them and want to get an ear lick. #-o
  • Yeah, our cat makes it difficult to exercise. She likes to put herself in a position to get crushed by pushups, situps, etc.
