Blisters — Brooklynian

Blisters

I have some really painful blisters on my feet (side of the ankle).

Any advice?

Are those liquid bandages helpful? Any particular brand to try?

  • blisters are the worst! I feel your pain. I say soak your feet with some epsom salt. Liquid bandage does nothing to protect the blisters from being "re-injured". I like a combo of triple ointment (the one that has added pain relief), Band Aid brand Tough Strips (or something like that, I know the word "tough" is in there), Mole Skin over it, which you can trim to the size you need, usually in the foot care section of the drug store. This is what will make the blisters hurt less in your shoes.
I've had a lot of foot blisters, they can ruin your whole day (and your outfit too, when you can't wear nice shoes for many days!)
    Lots of luck Flexi!
  • Thanks, Jillianna -

I tried getting the BandAid padded healing blister bandages and they slid right off my feet with shoes on - despite being touted as super sticky.

I did end up with the tough skin, which stayed on better, but still moved around.

I'm going to try the rest of your suggestions, but since they have ripped already, I don't know about the Epson salt. I got some epson salt on them the other day when I was using them in the sauna and I nearly cried because it stung so much
  • aww poor baby!! yeah i don't get those those blister bandages, they're crap for the feet! make sure you dab areas around the blisters with alcohol so the bandaids stick. forget the epsom salt until it heals a little. totally try that neosporin with the pain relief, it always helps me, just but a huge glob on and let it sink in (can you tell i've become a pro at this, hahaha)
  • Swimming pool or hot tub/Jacuzzi. The chlorine will kill the bacteria and accelerate the skin's healing process. Either that or spread peanut butter on you sores and let the cat lick 'em clean.
