I think they are looking for empty bottles.

If you recycle anyway , try sorting bottles that can be returned in a seperate clear bag , and place it out on the side where they will see it. Maybe that will keep them from sifting through all the bags of garbage that are just garbage.

They will be recycled either way.

Its nice to give a person that might need them for the 5 cent refund a chance to get them before the city does.
