I'm a teacher in Prospect Heights and am looking to move into the area. Anyone know of any apartment buildings that are renting 1 br? Thanks alot.

The 1BR beneath me in my building just opened up - being shown daily and can be rented w/o a broker (who's also showing it). New construction,diswasher, balcony, common area in backyard. Nice quiet building, $1700 I think. PM me if more info needed...

Subject: a little cheaper

I said I'm a teacher, 1700 is a little steep for me. I'm looking for closer to 1200. Am I crazy? Even if you don't know of specific apartments building I could call would be helpful, as I'm getting ready to start walking around from building to building asking, and that doesn't really sound like too much fun to me. Thanks

Based on my experience looking for an apartment a year ago, you're far more likely to find a one-bedroom in that range in Crown Heights instead of Prospect Heights. That's where I live and my rent is $1149 for a one-bedroom in a pretty new building, and I'm only a block and a half past the PH/CH border. Good luck!
