The first Thursday in June is celebrated as Brooklyn Day. I remember how we always had the day off from school back in the 1960s.

Is the day still celebrated?

What are your plans for this great occasion?

I'm 1200 miles away and will likely never go back to God's Country. But I still think about the old days (both good and bad).

The day is now officially marked by displaying an inverted cross on one's front door. It is celebrated with the world's largest witches coven etching a giant pentagram into Grand Army Plaza, and a virgin child is sacrificed in the fountain at the center at midnight.:twisted: :twisted: :twisted:

It is one of the most eagerly anticipated events of the year.

I remember getting days off in my youth too.

One day back in the earlier 90's a arcade owner kick me and my friends out, after we told him its brooklyn day, and we weren't play hooky.

he thought we made up the day and kick us out anyway and threaten to call the cops on us.
