Two Sweet Rescued Cats Need Homes
We just did a trapping to spay/neuter a colony of cats in our back
yard. Amongst them are two relatively friendly cats, one who may be
pregnant (we'll know tomorrow) and one very young, beautiful black
kitten. The kitten is probably about 5-6 weeks old.
We will spay/neuter the kitten and friendly cats tomorrow,
and they will then stay in the holding space for three/four days to
heal. After that, if we don't have a home for them they will be returned
to my backyard where they will not live the life it deserves.
Our home is full with now, and we cannot foster this kitten or any of the cats. They will go back into the
streets if a home is not found.
If you can foster for a week, a month or more, or if you can adopt either the kitten, a friendly or a project cat,
please contact me via e-mail right away.
Thank you,
Moria

Here is the kitten:

It's really cute, just a handfull of kitten, with big round eyes.
It's a little bit shy, but very sweet. -
omg cuteness!
i adopted a 6 week old kitten from a feral mom and i get the feeling he is just going to be feral-ish forever. -
I've helped feral kitties get domesticated before. A whole litter when I was young and worked at a pet store, and at my last place when I had a back yard. It's hard work but nowadays the wild kitties are my favorite.
The BF would be amazed when I'd pick up our last 1/2 feral and hold her in my arms without her attacking me. I explained by telling him that I gave the cat no choice and it knew it. Of course she'd give me a displeased "murr" each time.
Too bad there are no cat whisperers out there! -
I adopted my feral baby last year (she was approx. 4 months old) and she is the best thing that has happened to me. I'm so grateful for having her in my life everyday! Yes, I have been bitten by the cat bug.
I also fed and played with her for a few weeks before bringing her home, which helped her bond with me. I did not push her by holding/cuddling her too much. I went through stages with her - petting, kissing, holding her, etc. -

It might be his personality. I have two cats who are brother and sister from the same litter (they were the entire litter) and they were raised in exactly the same way, with lots of handling from day one, but their personalities could not be more different. One is an incredibly affectionate and cuddly lapcat, very vocal, follows me around all day and wants a lot of attention. The other is friendly but aloof, will not sit on a lap for a second, does not like to be picked up, is almost completely silent, and is happy to be petted once in a while but usually would prefer to do his own thing. It's amazing to me how different they are.
