lost looking woman on Vanderbelt — Brooklynian

lost looking woman on Vanderbelt

edited November -1 in Prospect Heights
yesterday I was walking on vanderbelt and a young woman who looked somewhat out of it stopped me to ask if I knew of a place she could get a hair cut for 18$. Not that weird of a question but she seemed lost or something was weird. I dont want to seem like a nut but it sort of looked like the lady who is being reported as missing on the news

www.helpfindkatie.com

anyhow obviously I cant offer any difinitive info but am asking for people to keep thier eyes open and Maybe if it was her someone else may have seen her. She was wearing a Skull and cross bones sweatshirt, had shoulder length hair and said that the was in from Philly I think. I know sounds weird, but I thought so too and now they say that she might be delusional which is why I am starting to wonder.

  • Snap a picture with your phone next time you see her and post it on DH. You saw her on Vanderbilt between which two streets?
  • Honeymoonx, did you contact the folks at that website? If it might have been her, you really should!
  • I did contact the people, I only thought of it since she was on the news this morning and was last seen at grand central. I called and told them it could have been her but since I wasnt on the look out at the time she was just a "bizarre" woman I ran into inthe heights. They said to let me community know somehow so that they can keep an eye out in case she is still in the neighborhood. So thats why I posted it on the forum. She had should length redish Brown hair and I saw her on the corner of Bergen and Vanderbelt and like I said she seemed not familiar with the neighborhood as she was asking If i new a place to get a hair cut for $18.00. I cant explain, but she just seemed alittle "lost"... well look at the pic ( printit out) and if you see a girl call the number with more specifics.
  • Her husband wrote such a heartfelt , passionate letter. I hope she is found. I will keep an eye out for her when I am in that area.
  • Subject: They found her alive!

They found this woman on skidrow in Baltimore, alive! Great news. :D
  • That is great news. Also the strangest story I've heard. Long time ago I babysat for a woman who was going through postpartum depression, and she did seem pretty strange, didn't know someone would actually be so bad off to walk away from everything like that. I hope it all works out for her.
  • Wow. It's incredible to hear about this story in three parts. First, a missing woman disappears from Rhode Island. I hear about it on the news. Second, postings on a message board I'm just beginning to read reintroduce this woman into my conscience. And, finally, she's found in Baltimore. It seems so improbable. And while I obviously have absolutely nothing to do with her, I feel somehow connected like this was something that I was a part of.

    /ramblings.

    Anyway, good news.
  • Subject: but was it her...?
