Looking for a contractor recommendation

Subject: Action Construction

We just did a major renovation of our place and we used a local contractor called Action Construction. While there was lots I was unhappy with, most of it had to do with the architect and some bad choices we made. However, they are an honest hardworking company, and capable of great work. My only recommendation is to stay on top of the job and don't ever trust any schedule, everything will always take twice as long and cost twice as much. To get better info from this board, you should say if it's total redo or small stuff, electric or plumbing or cabinetry or whatever - different people take on different kinds of jobs, both size, type of work and $value.
Or ask about particular people you're interested in from Brownstoner -- maybe someone here will have experience with them.

I don't blythly give out contractor info to people I don't know anymore, because there's soooo many annoying/clueless clients floating around Brooklyn these days and I value my contractor/handy friends.
