Sleek black little green eyed cat out side of my building!!!
A few times over the past week (maybe as long as a month) there is a beautiful small sleek and shiny black young cat out side of the building on Butler Place. He/she tried to follow me in the building tonight - but I have two cats that would eat her for lunch.
Does anyone know who it belongs to? Would some one like to adopt this pretty little kitty? It seems friendly enough and I am sure it could be coaxed and caught.

I too see that kitty. I also have cats and can't take her inside, but she seems like she'd easily adapt to indoor life if anyone wanted to give it a try. I know she's being fed as I've seen dishes out there for her.

I'm copying a post I made a while ago. please take the kitty in or at least call an organization to pick it up. I had a rescue kitty in my bathroom while I organized a foster home. very cramped, but she was happier in a warm home than in the streets. There are options out there.

Check the Pets section here, look at the sticky at the top on that board. Post there.
Please take them in temporarily and save them freezing to death.

Mamacita! I just emailed all of the organizations, except BARC. Hopefully some one will take it in. The kitty does seem in very good health. I wish I could bring him in, but I cannot at this time.

I am going to try and trap him over the weekend and bring him to Prospect Park Animal Clinic and hopefully they will give him a clean bill of health. BAFN will try and find him a home after he is proved healthy! If anyone can help in any part of this process it would be a great help.
Thanks! -
Kitty is still out there. Semi domestic... Does any know the best way to get him in the cat carrier?

If the cat is actually coming up to you- get a friend to hold the carrier and pick her up.
Sounds to me that if she's semi- domestic, she may be friendly enough to come up to you, say with tuna fish to entice - its nice and smelly and even if she's more than a few feet away, she'll definitely smell it.
You could put it down, walk away, give her a minute or two, then try to slowly go to her.
The vet or the rescue groups also have those safe traps....
Whenever I've taken a stray off the street, the only ones I've ever gotten were the ones who came to me. It's hard though...
If you need help, PM me. -
She will not come to be but she lies down on the sidewalk and does that squirmy cute thing that one of my cats does when I talk to her. I tried to get close to her Saturday morning but there were alot of people on the street and she got sppoked and ran off!
I am going to take a day off from work and see if I can get her! -

I know exactly what you're talking about.
I had feed a kitty that did the same thing but when you tried to grab her she'd get spooked. Don't worry, you might just need a helping hand. I just went through a stressful 3 weeks of trying to catch an abandoned & completely scared cat. If it wasn't for an amazing neighbor that came out and helped me rather forcibly shove her in a cat carrier, I wouldn't have never been able to save her. -
I have not see her in a few days., I hope all is well with her.
