Subject: Parking on St. Mark's b/w Carlton and Vandy - My Car was hit

Did anyone happen to see how my Saab 9-3 was smashed late last week on St. Mark's between Carlton and Vandy (would have happened on Thursday night or Friday)? It was parked right near the church, close to Zaytoons. Looks like someone tried to squeeze by a truck and in the process smashed the right side of my car.
Thanks-

  • Someone smashed the shit outta the front of my car a few years back on Dean b/w Carlton and Vanderbilt. It happens every now and then.
  • My car got totaled whilst parked on classon and park last weekend. What a nightmare! Hard for me to now justify having the liability of a car in this city.
  • Couple years ago my car was bashed in by a church van. The police didn't bother to investigate and the church never owned up to it. Oh, well. Cost of living in the city I guess.

It's not a matter of the police not bothering to investigate. Leaving the scene of an accident with property damage only (no injuries) is a violation (not misd or felony). In order for a police officer to take action against somebody commiting a violation he/she must personally observe the offense being commited. There would be no investigation to conduct because there was no criminality.

The police don't write the laws.

Was that the car that got pushed up on the sidewalk? Was the car a total loss?
  • Yea that was mine. A total loss.
