six shots? Underhill and Prospect Place
2 followed by 4, approx 1:55 am weds. sounded like they were coming from the direction of sterling place between washington and underhill.

I heard them as well, 1:56 as I was staring at my phone when I heard it. It was very loud and I'm near sterling and butler. I immediately came here to see if anyone else heard it. I also heard a car and it has been silent since.

I heard it, too... and a vehicle speeding off somewhere... from Underhill and Bergen. I don't suppose anyone has a police scanner?

Yeah, I'm on Prospect Place and Underhill, right next to the playground and I swore they were right at that corner. I was so startled, in the middle of sleep and can't fall asleep again. I watched out my window for the next few minutes and did see police cruising by. Yes, I agree, very scary and loud!

As noted above, I heard the shots at Sterling/Underhill; however, I was still up at the time. They sounded really loud to me, but I don't know that they would have awakened me if I'd been sleeping.

Did anyone find out anything? These sounded WAAAAY effing louder than the ones I posted about a month ago. I heard sirens in the distance around 15mins or so later I thought, but who knows--the were probably tending to something else.
It just makes you wonder if some shit was really going down, or if it was just some asshole showing off and shooting in the air. Either way, it was scary and seemingly becoming more frequent. Not cool. -
Boyfriend and I heard the shots too last night--sounded to us like they were coming from Washington, maybe somewhere near St. Mark's or Prospect (our bedroom windows face Washinton, though, so pretty much everything sounds like it's coming from there). We heard the sirens, as well--one set right after the shots, and another sometime later. Scary...

Those were incredibly loud - sounded like they were coming from Underhill and St. Johns/Sterling. When I heard more this morning I thought I was just hallucinating, but it looks like I wasn't.

It's a separate incident. The six shots were last night/early this a.m. around 1:30 or 2. Second was this morning in near the playground.

yes, seperate incidents. The 2nd shooting appears on gothamist crime maps at 11:21am. Drivebys...across the street from a playground...really not good.

Lol, it is kind of sad when separate shootings get combined, for what? To save space? On the plus side, I haven't heard any shootings around my place for awhile (*knocks on wood*).

Two separate incidents. I heard the shots last night. About six pops coming from near where I live (Lincoln and Underhill) and then a car whizzing away or to the scene of the shooting. Now, to this morning, I was turning the corner of Sterling and Underhill around 11 AM when I heard about seven shots from down the block (Underhill between Park and Prospect). Everyone in the street stopped in their tracks. Sure enough, some guy (maybe the shooter, maybe not) comes running down the block and dashes into a row house. Police arrive about five minutes later. They block off the area--its still blocked off now. Someone was definitely shot and they were definitely shot in front of a playground. That is the short of the long of it and I bet this shooting, given the time of day and the location, is going to show up in the news.

I also heard these shots at 1:55am. I heard them from my apt at Bergen btwn Classon and Grand. I thought I heard them coming from the corner of Classon and Bergen. I guess you can't trust sound.

Wow--I just googled "shooting prospect heights jan 9" to find out what those six shots were all about last night, and this website came up. I've been wondering about it all day at work. I live very close to the corner of Sterling and Underhill and thought the shots sounded like they were coming from somewhere around Underhill and Park Place-ish.
And now there was another shooting this morning? Lived here for 3 years but never knew it was this bad. -
I also found this post when I googled. Went to move the car and the street was closed off, didn't hear the shots. I wonder if insurance covers bullet holes? What an awful incident. This is the 4th (and 5th) shooting I have heard of since I've lived here about 3 years. The last one was on St Johns and Underhill, some guy rode up on a bike and shot someone in the arm and ran away, apparently cops found him using the fingerprints he left on the bike. A guy in our building refers to Underhill as "Gun Shot Alley". Nice, right? He's been here for 20 some years, ie. all his life.

Anyone seen this covered anywhere? I watched ABC 7 and Brooklyn 12 news but didn't see it...
Can I safely convince myself that these are all targeted incidents...? Random stuff scares the crap out of me. -
Wow! In front of a park. It blows my mind how stupid and careless these people can be. Thank God there were no kids around.
Any word on the motive?
