Lincoln Place and Washington Avenue — Brooklynian

Lincoln Place and Washington Avenue

prospectus
edited November -1 in Prospect Heights
I am moving into the neighborhood into a building between Washington and Underhill. Now we're seeing all of these posts about crime on the corner of Lincoln Place and Washington we're a little worried about it. Has anything changed since the drug raids by the police this summer?

  • I live on the same block. I am a 20 something female and feel generally safe. The people on the corner don't really worry me. Just use your common sense (aware of where you are, late night, walking w ipod in, etc...)
  • I also live on this block, closer to Underhill. Been here for just over a year now, and I haven't had any problems. Can get noisy during the warm months with the kids outside, but no crime issues.
  • I have lived on this block for over 15 years. While it has gotten better, it still pays to be alert after dark. My apartment is on the first floor in the back of the building and I hear very little street noise. Apartments in the front of the building get a lot more noise.
  • That corner is completely fine, I just walk on the south side of the street due to the sketchy building on the north side of Lincoln. There are plenty of people coming out of the subway at most hours who walk right by.
