Red Tailed Hawk on Plaza Street East

Anybody else notice the hawk that has been hanging out in Grand Army Plaza, on the side of Plaza Street east over near Butler & St. Johns?

  • I've seen a pair of red-tail hawks flying about nearly every time I go into Prospect Park via Grand Army entrance. On occasion I've seen the male and female hunting in tandem over Prospect Heights. I am confident you're looking at the same one(s) that I see each week.
  • Sure that ain't a chicken hawk?

Would definitely help explain some things around here...

  • I saw one munching on a pigeon in my back yard last winter

i have a picture but i have no idea how to attach it :(
  • host it on photobucket or any other random free image hosting site. then click the Img icon above, paste the image URL and lick Img again. Then we can all go "gross dude!"[/img]

They've been hanging out atop the tallest water tower in what's now the Atlantic Yards construction zone -very cool.
