Why do these folks have such a hard time with the concept of ethics?

  • People have been making deals in Albany forever. The difference is our legislators have been getting dumber and therefore get caught at far greater rates than they did in the past.
  • It really astounds me that they think they are smarter than the AG's Office and FBI.

    In my next life, I'll prosecute politicians. It looks easy.

    Back in the day many of them were practicing attorneys. They knew the rules and how to bend them. Many skirted the lines and tiptoed around them without crossing them. Today's crop are basically professional politicians. The modern day state legislator has no real world experience outside of running for office or serving in office. Makes a big difference.

    But is it too much to expect them to hire consultants who advise them what they can and can't do?

    Being unethical, yet hiding it, isn't that hard.
