New York City - Norman Siegel, candidate for Public Advocate, today sent a letter to Mayor Michael Bloomberg raising important questions regarding the Department of Homeland Security's testing of "harmless" gases in densely populated mid-town locations.
In the letter, Siegel stated in part: "I strongly believe that all New Yorkers have the right to know the details about any such experiments - even if they are certified 100 percent harmless."

From Newsday (appears to be one of the only news outlets that picked up on Siegel's press conference): Sounds like a total yawn to me - why is Siegel making such a huge deal out of this? Is Homeland Security withholding information? By saying "all New Yorkers have the right to know the details about any such experiments," is Siegel trying to imply a cover-up or conspiracy?
