Solid Rock Pentecostal Chruch on Classon - LOUD

The Solid Rock Pentecostal Church at 817 Classon (between Lincoln and St Johns) has been having loud outdoor ceremonies every night this week. They have a tent set up in their parking lot with a live band and amplified mics to "PRAISE THE LORD HALLELUJAH!" I don't mean to be uncaring, but the noise is a bit much. Does anyone know what is going over there? It is almost 10 pm and the noise is still continuing...

    I can't say, but I will tell you that place is aptly named.  When they renovated a few years ago, their contractors illegally dumped solid rock into tree wells throughout the neighborhood.

    My kid's bedroom is across from the church and it doesn't bother him, in fact he says he likes it (and we're not religious). I do think this is the first time experiencing this in our 12 years living here so I'm thinking that maybe they have a busted air conditioner or something. But I much prefer this music to gunshots any day. It just sounds much more uplifting and positive, ya know. There is (or was) a "church" around the corner on Lincoln near that new burger place that used to set up on the sidewalk and scream in tongues. Now that was some annoying shit.

    Lox, too funny!! Speaking in tongues would definitely be annoying. 

    I live in the grey condo bldg next to Solid Rock. My building was vibrating from the noise last night. All of the residents have been pretty upset about it all week. I finally went down to speak to the pastor last night, and had to wait in line behind other neighbors of the block who had also walked down to complain. He said that this was a special event for the week, so hopefully it doesn't continue much longer...

    The church is a great neighbor and the block is happy to see that they are thriving.
