Live near Franklin & EP? Where do you do your laundry?
There has got to be a better laundromat around here than "Franklin Express Laundry Center" at Franklin and St Johns. A significant number of machines have been 'out of order' for months, and the ones in working order are all clogged up with moldy water in their soap trays. My clothes smell worse after a trip there.

There is one on St. John's between Rogers and Nostrand.
All another one I think on St. John's just past Nostrand and they do wash and fold.

Crown Star Laundromat. Franklin b/w President and Carroll. Can't speak to typical machine availability or quality, but $.60/lb for wash and fold. Nice people, never had any problems.

Man, I was in there yesterday, and thinking the exact same thing. I hate how terrible that place is becoming.

@nateasensky I wrote this post yesterday while waiting for my laundry! I don't understand why they won't repair anything there.
@mike dunlap, I checked that place out and it is more expensive to wash your own clothes there than it is at Franklin Express. But I'll look again, maybe it's worth it if their machines aren't all broken down and full of mildew.
@hurricanekate I used to go to the second place you mentioned when I lived in that area! Man, I really miss that place. Inexpensive machines and never super busy as long as you went at the right times. I enjoyed the silly daytime TV shows they play. -
I use Waverly Wu's to pick up and drop off my laundry. It's like a dollar a pound, but to have someone pick it up at your door and then drop it off all nice and folded is worth it, at least for me.

I love Island Bubbles on Rogers and Park Place

What about the place on Park and Franklin? Its only a couple of blocks away from Franklin Express.

Crown star is closed as of this past Monday -
I just went to Crown Star earlier tonight with a load of laundry only to arrive and find them clearing it out and telling me they're closed. I was not happy.

It was for sale: http://www.brooklynian.com/discussion/comment/569657/I suspect we are seeing a big hint that it has sold.

Photos taken just now
Whoops will try again when connected to wifi...? -
Brooklynian likes small photos. You can make them smaller by emailing them to yourself, or emailing them to me. See your PM

I stopped going to Franklin Express over a year ago for those very reasons. The staff there was quite rude and unhelpful, too. As soon as the laundry at Bedford and Union opened, I've been going there. Always open machines when I go. So far so good!

whew, i managed! Thank you Why Not!

For lease.
That would imply this place didn't sell. No tear down.
Howdy, Stranger!
