Looks like they'll keep the store opened though:I have to say I'm surprised. Every time we went they seemed really busy and they did have one of the best brunches on Vanderbilt. I can only imagine high rent had something o do with it.

We went once, and somehow haven't managed to get back there. I'll admit that I wasn't wild about the food. It surprises me that the store is staying. It's way too expensive for me to make that place a regular destination.
Betting that Cooklyn was the final straw. I haven't been able to go there yet, but it looks like the place is crowded any time I walk by.

Had Brunch at Cooklyn on Valentine's Day and the food was very good, but the Mimosas were $9 each. An otherwise manageable brunch ballooned to an $80 one quickly so be careful. As for R&D, had brunch there once and really liked it. The egg sandwich was something special. Too bad it closed before I got to pop in and try the Sunday Supper series.. always thought that was such a cool idea. -
I had brunch there once, and it was good, but the prices were outrageous. $13-16 entrees PLUS coffee at around $4 a pop. Way too expensive to ever become a regular place in the brunch rotation.
Unfortunately never made it for dinner there.

I liked the decor and the local-type food, but yeah, it was a bit pricey. I took out-of-towners there a few times and they loved it too. Sad to see them go.

I walked by yesterday and there was construction going on and a notice about the new owner applying for a liquor license so maybe it won't be an empty storefront for much longer.

Confirmed, and a new thread is here: http://www.brooklynian.com/discussion/46041/a-new-restaurant-takes-over-606-vanderbilt-wilderness-group-llc
