New restaurant coming to Washington: Janelle's

But I, too, wish that The Islands had the resources to take over that spot...while I'm not always in the mood to take a walk to that location when I'm in BK, I do love their food. And its cheap, too, a fact which would probably change if they moved to the Janelle's location. 

As far as Janelle's business, it was empty most of the time that I recall. There were a few evenings, however, when the place was packed (it didn't seem like a party). I saw Janelle cut back on staff over the years. Specifically, when she first opened (if her name is actually "Janelle"), there seemed to be a full time cook and Janelle was more so of a hostess. Over time, however, I saw the cook was gone and Janelle had taken charge of the kitchen. Overall, sad to see this place go as the owner was trying to provide a quality service to the community, but am excited to see what takes its place!
