It isn't clear to me to what degree this proposal requires CB8 support. ...but I have heard that the meeting was contentious.

Help from Rebecca:
"The building has also gotten larger since plans were first filed in January 2015. It started out as 133 apartments spread across 91,000 square feet of residential space; now the development has grown to 175 apartments and 125,063 square feet of residential space. Typical units will measure 715 square feet apiece, ranging from studios to two-bedrooms. Three apartments will be duplexes, with space on the first and second floors."

Confirming...both new buildings near Bedford & Lincoln will be rentals, right?? Not condos, correct??
-
Yup. Both are also members of what I call the Big 18.

Both of the buildings are going all out with the trucks this am. Causing some amusing chaos (assuming you're on foot!)
-
Two months later, they have made lots of progress. They must have poured cement everyday it was warm enough to cure.

I've heard that the market that is coming to the base of this building will be owned and operated by the folks who run Union Market, but will have a different name.Rumor is that this market will have a selection that is "different enough" from Union Market that they did not want it to affect their present brand.
-
Building has now topped out. Windows next.
-
commercial tenants now being sought https://newyork.craigslist.org/brk/off/6169565502.html
-
it appears the grocery tenant will not have the corner space. It will be "store C"
-
As a result of windows going in, we can predict occupancy in the Spring of 2018. (Once the building is sealed up in October, they can work all winter in climate control)
-
Building is now effectively sealed.
-
The interiors are sketched out here: http://durukandesign.com/portfolio/1519-bedford-avenue/
-
facade largely in place
-
I've forgotten...Is one of these new Bedford/EP buildings still set to house a Union Market location, or similar?
-
Yes, it will be owned and run by the same folks who run Union Market. However, it may operate under a different name and carry a slightly different product mix.
