  • You should call your vet and ask for an estimate. I'm sure that they would be happy to go over the price with you. It's a very important test. If you suspect that your dog is hypothyroid then I would definitely take care of it. The longer your dog goes without treatment, the harder it will be to get your dog regulated.

    yep. i called this morning and was surprised to find the test only costs about $40.
    she's been acting lethargic this past week and her being a pit;
    and pits being predisposed to thyroid issues. i just wanna rule that out

    her appt is tomorrow. check her white blood cell count too while we're at it...
  • sorry i came in late to this one, Q. yeah, i was going to tell you that the test should run you about 50 bucks, but i'm glad you called ahead and found out anyhoo. tell Kika i hope she feels better soon, and let us know how it turns out at the vet's okay?

    btw: you mentioned "lethargy". is she off her food? are you able to temp her? any other symptoms to speak of?

    her appetite's been off. which is pretty rare for her
    and she's been hesitant to go for long walks

    i can get her energy worked up quick if i show her a soccer ball and play with her
    so i'm thinking perhaps it's the canine equivalent of a cold, or she's fighting off some bug. perhaps she has some sort of virus

    so i wanna check her white cell count
    otherwise her poop is a-ok O:)
  • just came back from the vet
    a partial thyroid test runs $35
    a full thyroid test runs $100

    got the full test done; results back on tuesday
