Update on girl kitty that was adopted

Hi everyone! I figured I would post this email and some pictures from the girl's new mom in case anyone wanted to hear about her happy ending. (This is the 1st kitty I took in the day after Christmas)

"Oh hey there. I have been meaning to e-mail you. We had Annie (new name: short for Annwyl) into the vet (who was very nice, by the way), and - you're not going to believe this - she is actually closer to 5 or 6 years old. She is just so small... it's deceiving. That explains why she is so mellow. Not a kitten!

She received a relatively clean bill of health. She's a little on the skinny side, and her heart rate was elevated (top of normal) so the vet wondered if she could be heading toward a thyroid issue, but we don't see any signs of overeating so it's probably not a problem now. We're just keeping an eye on her eating and weight. In any case, if it does become an issue, it's something that can be treated with medication - so no biggie.

Otherwise, she is GREAT. It only took her a day or two to get quite comfy with the group. I wouldn't say she loves the dogs... yet, but they are all happily coexisting. She sleeps on our bed during the day and stops in for naps at night when she isn't busy running up and down the stairs like a maniac. She is also currently having a love affair with what remains of the Christmas tree and entertains trysts with it each night after we are asleep. This is evidenced by a smattering of fresh pine needles on the floor each morning. She is smart enough to hightail it when she sees Isabella coming and is amazingly patient with Isabella's deep-seated desire to pull her tail and pat her head. All this to say that she is a perfect (purrfect) fit for our family."

I couldn't be happier for Annie, I only hope the boy kitty finds such a wonderful home. Here's pics of her in her new home!

  • Yay, Annie!

Were they strongly opposed to taking the boy cat too? Two cats are always better than one :-)
  • They said they would think about it once Annie got settled. I emailed them back to update them about boy kitty's shots and how he's adjusting to my babies. I told them about some weird emails I got today from my craigslist posting and that the people who visited him didn't connect with him. Maybe they will consider taking boy kitty too. He's growing on me too much!
