    I always keep my curtains closed when its dark. I think it's because of the times that my friends and I would run around our (suburban) neighborhood at night. You could stand literally ten feet away from someone's window watching them, and they would have no idea you were there. Until you lit off some fireworks or something.

    Whenever I'm in a lit room and it is dark outside, I just feel like I'm on display, and at a disadvantage to someone who may be outside.

    My rooomate was on the fire escape this summer and was witness to some guy in the building directly behind us closing the window while masturbating and talking on the phone all at the same time.     Ok... so file this under too much information but I think its funny.

    Our ap faces out only into an internal courtyard in our building. I just gave the GF a crack on the ass, in passing, nothing overtly sexual, more just a joke. We have blinds that are always drawn, 24/7 but I think one of the windows was cracked.

    Well, upon hearing that someone in an apt either above or below that also faces the courtyard decided to blow an air horn. I mean like, right on cue. Like they were waiting for it. And this is not a regular occurance in our household.

    Maybe it was just a coincidence but it was spot on timing.

    Funny this thread came up--I happen to notice that yuppies in general don't have a very strong grasp of the concept of curtains/blinds/shades. Maybe something to do with status/showing off to other yuppies?

    Anyway, whenever I walk by a 1st floor apartment all lit up like a storefront window, with some dude making a sandwich in his boxers, I always make a point to stop for a minute and just look in from the curb with a blank look on my face, a la that John Candy movie 'Summer Rental' where the whole neighborhood is walking by staring into John Candy's window as him and his family have breakfast. I mean, if putting it all out there then I guess that's my cue to look, right? 8)
