Nixon Carter Johnson. I always point out these to friends.

It makes me crazy that they aren't in order... Nixon, Johnson, then Carter, whats that about? And where's Ford?
-
Where's this house so that I can see for myself?
-
Its on Park between Carlton and Vanderbilt... a red house on the left side of the street walking towards Vanderbilt.
-
Thanks for posting this. Anymore local trivia?
-
Oh, i want to do Slope/WT trivia....I've lived here for 12 years, so hopefully I learned a thing or two
-
Can anyone name the location of the house featuring the wall mural depicting an alien invasion of Easter Island?

You got some catchy tunes there, DeLeon.

Incorrect!
That corner is in Park Slope, not Prospect Heights. -

It's 227 Park Pl (I remember it because of that show from the 80s with Marla Gibbs).
I think this is the building, but the faces in this pic are obscured by trees.
From this angle, you can almost make out 2 of the faces. -
yep, that's the building all right.

I believe the correct answer is Bergen at Carlton. Unless there's *another* Easter Island mural I haven't seen. -

Crap! I meant Bergen and Carlton! Truly! I just got excited and was off by one up and one over. It's the house with the great gardening. Redo?

Oh! That's the house with all the stuffed animals in the front yard. I've always noticed the animals, but never the faces in the lintels.

Nah...it's on the other side of the street - across from the stuffed animal house. -

Yeah, the presidential busts are on the opposite side of the random stuffed animals decomposing amidst the elements. Plus, they're closer to Vandy. -

that is the von daniken family ancestral manse. where erich penned many of his most significant works. thus, the mural. -
Ok, an easy one.
What were the last 2 movies to play at the Flatbush Pavilion (now American Apparel)? -
Hmm. I know the last one was that atrocious Van Helsing movie, but that's only because the marquee still had it listed for months and months after the theater closed down.
-
That's half the answer...

As to the question of why, I always thought they were modern gargoyles. It seems very 1970s, so maybe the correct answer would be "why not?"
Does anyone know why they are there?
Okay, I have a question that I don't know the answer to. Did Aaron Copeland live on Prospect Place? Did he live in Prospect Heights?
Howdy, Stranger!
