Also, Park Slope is still in New York City. Not everyone is like me, some people are crazy and might react very differently. All I'm saying is be careful about who you mouth off to, especially in a park after dark. This is common sense when living in a big city.
Did you just write this earlier??

"If someone gave me crap about them being off their leashes I would have told them to go f*ck themselves and to go find a hobby. "

I'm pretty sure that telling someone to go f*ck themselves is a hell of a lot different from giving them a beatdown. I know using the f word can hurt someone's feelings but it's not really as painful as a black eye.

huh ? i thought he was pointing out that in one sentence you say that people should be careful who they mouth of to, and in the next sentence
think it better to tell some one go fck themselves and get a hobby then to roll your eyes and walk away, which sure sounds like self contradiction.

i wonder if i will bump into mallory today.

I ran a few loops of Prospect Park this morning. I ran into one of my running buddies and he told me that a dog just jumped on him. He said he just slapped the dog in the face and it fell back so hard that it knocked its owner to the ground. She got tangled in it's giant leash. She cursed him out for hitting her dog. He told her to fuck herself and control her animal.

Is there special mace for dogs?

Pretty sure regular pepper spay will work.

If the incident even happened. Why was your "buddy" running so close to a leashed dog (as evidenced by your statement that she was tangled up in his leash)? Sounds like your friend was the stupid one here.

Oh no, my buddy was running on the road. He is not my "buddy", just my buddy.

"buddy" = lie. :) Still didn't answer my question. Why was said "buddy" running so closely to a leashed dog? Leashes are 6' in length. Maybe your "buddy" was trying to pick up on the owner? Why else would someone run within 6' of a woman with a dog on a leash? Why would anyone run within 6' of anyone? If it was a retractable leash, why did your "buddy" put himself in the position to run by the woman with the leash open? Sounds fishy to me.

He said it was one of those long leashes, more than 6 feet.

He said he was running in the recreation lane. I have run with him many times, he does leave the path.

He is a 60 year old married man, not trying to pick up the owner, I don't know anything about the women.

This was a friend of mine. Not me. If it were me I would say so. I have no reason to lie, this is an anonymous message board.

You know next to nothing about cats. If you want to keep your cat safe and happy, you DON'T let them "answer the call of the wild." Proper owners spay and neuter thereby removing that desire to go out and populate.

As for cats hating humans- tell that to my cat who pees whenever I go away too long. Or away period.

Wow, what an amazing coincidence; it coincides perfectly with your previous post about offensive dogs! It's incredible how you and your "buddies" manage to have the market on Prospect Park aggressive dog victimization cornered.

By the way, kudos to you "buddy"--that must have been one heck of a slap, to send both a dog and its owner tumbling like acrobats. Much respect.

Oh, is that so? So by your reasoning, the best way to enable cats to be naturally happy is to remove their sex drives and keep them locked indoors for their entire lives? Sounds suspect to me...

Cats have absolutely no loyalty or allegiance to any individual human. All they know is that if a human isn't around in the house, they're not getting food. That's all. They think every time a human exits the home, they're being deserted. The cat is peeing on your stuff because it's marking its territory to claim the apartment, since it thinks you're out of the picture and now it can take over.

If a stranger were to enter your home and start feeding the cat, the cat would forget about you in about 1.5 seconds, eat its food, and slink off somewhere licking its chops.

The only reason to own a cat is (1) if you have a mouse problem, or (2) if you live on a farm. Otherwise, you are keeping a wild animal imprisoned in your home.

yes, because 60 year old married men NEVER stray - or try to pick up on women. How silly of me. In any event, if my dog was on his leash and some retard came running up close enough to him that he felt threatened and jumped THEN said asswhip runner hit my dog, I'd have buried his fucking ass somewhere in the park. The owner of the dog did nothing wrong. She had her dog on a leash and was respecting the law. Unfortunately, your "buddy" broke the law by a) damaging her property (because we all know dogs are property) and b ) assaulted the owner by knocking her down.

You don't know my friend, I do. He was not trying to make any new friends. The dog did not jump him because it felt threatened. It wanted to play. and it was on one of those long leashes.

She had no control over her pet.

Well, you said you weren't there. You can't know if the dog was threatened or wanted to play. If the latter, your friend was in no danger and his hitting the dog was an over reaction. In which case, you'd have no friend any longer if it had been my dog. Most people with larger dogs don't use retractable leashes. So best case senario, a maltese jumped on your friend's knee to play and he hit the dog so hard he sent it flying into his owner, knocking her down. Your "buddy" is a real trooper. Does he beat his "wife", too?

Ya know, I've got to wonder about you, uh, I mean your "buddy"--if a dog is coming to attack you (which is 99% of the time dead obvious), then a "slap" isn't going to do much to stop it unless it's a Chihuahua. Pretty much the only thing a "slap" will get you is a lacerated hand, even from a relatively small dog.

On the other hand, if the dog wasn't trying to attack you--I mean your buddy--then, he slapped a completely oblivious animal for no reason. Sounds like a true hero to me.

Just because I believe that cats are happier when they are left alone and free to romp in nature, that makes me "hate" them? Then if I said that all cats around the world should have their genitals removed and be locked in apartments for their entire lives, that would show my love for them? I'm not quite sure I understand your reasoning.

You're going by incorrect "knowledge" that cats are feral animals. This is not true. They are, as a species, domesticated. Look it up.

Actually, dogs should only live in the country where they can run free and not be cooped up in little apartments to be left along for hours at a time while their owners are out buying Brooklyn industries t-shirts and sucking up lattes at Gorilla.
