My husband and I went there for my birthday. They were really nice, the service was good. It's true no liquor license .. bummer ... Again I they were really really nice .... but we did not like our food at all. They were nice enough that we may give them another try.

Had dinner there last night. We went at 6 and were the only people in there but by the time we left a few new people came in. The music was really funny. Loud, then quiet, then loud. We heard some songs twice and they included some funny stuff like Richard Marx and Lionel Richie. I sang along karaoke style and the server laughed. When ordering, we asked the spanish speaking server what he recommended and he said "I don't know I have never eaten here." Friend had the prix fixe for $23. Caprese salad, crusted fish and flan. The caprese salad looked pretty good, but the basil was mixed in with greens rather than with the tomato and mozz. The fish was apparently really good, and came with fried potatoes. The flan was boxed. They also brought a free chocolate mousse cake. I don't like chocolate but my friend practically licked the plate. I tried to order clams and linguini but they were out of clams. Boo. So I had a caesar salad and crabcakes. I asked for the salad to be very lighthly dressed so they just didn't dress it at all and no dressing on the side. The romaine was very thinly sliced and it was fine. The crabcakes were kind of mushy, overly salty and a little burnt on the outside. They gave us a glass of cheap red wine. It was affordable and weird. Honestly I feel that there are plenty of other options in that price range like Nuevo Mexico and Peppinos that I would probably go to first. I think Slope's Bistro should cut their menu to fewer items that they do really well. I did like that it's BYOB and appreciated the free wine and dessert, but overall the experience was just meh.

I'm so glad to find this post, I walk by this place all the time and it's always so empty and depressing. I was very curious if anyone had tried the food. I have thought about ordering from there, but I'm guessing nothing is very fresh considering how empty it is all the time. They should make some changes (perhaps turn it into more of a bar, with food being secondary) before they have to shut down! I would love for it to succeed, especially since it's so close to my apartment.

Just had dinner there tonight. My boyfriend and I were the only ones there (it was about 8pm). The typos are still all over the menu, but amusingly, they're different from the ones in the picture below (I saw Maryland "carb" cakes). I also had a "caprase" salad which sadly came on an underripe tomato. Overall, the food is really not great. Both of us got pasta dishes that were way too salty.

Here's the thing - our waiter was just so darn earnest that it makes it hard to write a bad review. Sadly, unless they make some major changes quickly (he did mention that they're revamping their menu), I don't see how they can survive.

The music is still kind of strange (we heard Celine Dion, Coldplay and Dave Matthews Band) and they must have a liquor license because I got a glass of white wine, but that was also my only option. They didn't have red wine or beer. Go figure.

Did they charge you for the wine? Because when places don't have a liquor license, they often give you a glass of wine. This could explain why they only had white wine and nothing else

Seems like the type of place you'd find on Gordon Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares. Earnest, well-meaning chefs and owners but a lack of experience translating good intentions to the plate.
