My friend Mike - who some of you met yesterday - would be down, though I'm not sure about tonight. I need to make him join so I don't have to be his friggin' bike-ride-post-watching bitch.

...they should join us on Wednesday. We are slow.

We are drinkers with a biking problem.
    Not bikers with drinking problems

I dont think you understand how slow I am going up that hill. Its possible that the bike could tip over due to lack of forward movement. Its embarrassing.

You have no choice unless you have some other way to sweat at 11 PM on a wednesday.

Yeah, kinda like us. You'll fit right in.
I also found a good way of avoiding that hill: biking clockwise in the park.

I'm with you. I feel like I'll just start rolling backwards.

I'm good at pushing people up that hill while riding my bike...although I've yet to demonstrate that talent on a midnight ride. Maybe Wednesday!

I'm off work this week, so if anyone wants to do daytime rides, I'm up for that....didn't see todays ride until it was too late.

Can we set up an 8 pm ride soon? Before it gets cold at night (boo!)

    purest.

The earliest I could do a "midnight ride that occurs at 8 PM" would be next Tuesday

But, but, but - if you go in a circle, you have to end up at the same elevation as where you started - you're just trading a longer, less steep hill for the one you'd normally have.

So from a physics perspective, you're doing the same total work, but don't have to generate as much peak force.

I'd rather attack a shorter hill than slog up a longer one - I have stronger rather than faster legs and I feel the burn sooner rather than later, these days, so better to get it over with.

Clearly you need to join us for the drinking part in order for this to make sense.
