Can I propose a Friday-night get-together for this week?

It looks like I'm finally going to be leaving my annoying job this Friday (long story--I gave notice weeks and weeks ago, but they keep trying to get me to stay).

Anyway, I'm hoping to get people together and would be happy to see fellow DHers as well. Since I don't see anyone talking about Wednesday yet, how about Friday at Soda?

Or are the regulars still on vacation...?

I'm back as of today. Wednesday's a no go for me. I could be down for Friday.

I would definately be available.

Dude, I'm totally down for this Friday. it's about time I start putting names to faces.

I like Soda, but here's an alternative suggestion: don't know the name, but there is this neat bar on Van btw Pacific and Dean. It's on the Soda side. It's kinda neon-looking, but they've got a dj on weekends, cheap drinks, and rainbow crowd.

Indigo--we've been there several times for happy hours and other events. It is pretty cool.

In this case, however, I would prefer to stick with Soda. Um, I've already told some of my friends (you know, the kind of friends that I didn't meet on this board!) that we should go to Soda because I'm planning to go pretty much straight after work to eat pierogies.

Of course, if I go straight after work, I'll be all tuckered out by 9. :oops: :roll: so y'all can head out to wherever after I go home.

I'm moving into my new place on Bergen Friday afternoon, and Wednesdays almost *never* work for me, so if I'm not too exhausted and haven't spent my entire paycheck on paying the movers I'll try to come have a beer with y'all.

I have at least one friend who wants to do it early, so I think I'll be there by 7. Maybe even 6:30. I dunno--is it reasonable to assume that I'll be able to leave on time my last day?!

I had a great time! I mean, I was somehow a VIP at some random event and got lots of free drinks (yay) and I got to see 2 live crew and relive junior high! what more could I want?

I will be glad to see you there, meganlibrarian--a fitting person to see on the first evening of the rest of my life as a student. And I'm glad that so many others are down with the non-Wednesday thing.

Some of my work friends and, er, regular friends are coming too. I think we should make a beeline for the backroom and take over as much of it as possible!

The Medusa Family will be there in some form or another depending on Baby Medusa's mood/sleep schedule. 6 pm is a touch-and-go time for her.

There will be toddlers running everywhere, knocking down resentful hipsters and (bonus points!) Marge from the midwest. Childless DHers will have to borrow a baby from the neighbors. We'll have a screaming contest: who's got the loudest baby? At one point, we'll yank off their soiled diapers and have a diaper fight.
