Good place for lobster in Park Slope (not Fish Camp)
longtimesloper
Any suggestions? I know tons of good restaurants, just can't think of any that serve lobster and that is what hubby is craving.

documentalBlue Ribbon has lobster. I have never had it, but have had plenty of other (good) shellfish from them. -
carnivoreBlue Ribbon. -
longtimesloperThanks, just looked at their menu, guess we will go there. -
booklawYou'll eat very well, but it will be expensive!
Enjoy! -
bradedwardThere is actually this great new Sushi/seafood restaurant called Ten on 7th ave and 15th (maybe 16th). The food is always AMAZING and I believe they have lobster. PLUS it's a bit cheaper than blue ribbon. -
maggiepctry buttermilk channel on friday nights. -

I keep meaning to try that place, but I haven't gotten to yet. Thanks for reminding me about it. -
veetsI can't come up with anywhere else in the Slope for lobster but a ride to Jordan's in Sheepshead Bay with get a reasonably priced lobster.
Don't expect the formality of Blue Ribbon but compared to life in PS that area of Brooklyn is like a trip to a little (Russian) fishing village. -
longtimesloperThanks veets, we know about Jordan's and Nick's out there, MIL lives in that area. Will check out the menu for Ten also, but, for now, going to do Blue Ribbon tonight since we want to stick close by.
Haven't heard of Buttermilk Channel, will have to look them up -
MODI've had the blue ribbon surf and turf that comes with lobster. Damn good!!
Blue ribbon is expensive but that dish is completely worth it. -

You will have a great meal at Blue Ribbon.

As I have said in the past, I love Blue Ribbon, especially off times and it is possible to not spend a fortune eating there. But... those special times where money is not the issue, the seafood is great. -
longtimesloperOOh, just looked at the menu for Buttermilk Channel, definitely going to check them out sometime, menu looks great -

longtimesloperThanks Flexi! Just came back from Blue Ribbon where hubby ahd the lobster and I had the red trout and it all was amazing as their food usually is. -
dave17^nice. Glad to hear you had a good time -
veetsKnew you would have a great meal at Blue Ribbon.
What a treat to eat there and not avoid the higher priced sea food. -

Hope you didn't bruise your knees down there.
Truth is I don't care to eat lobster out... it's just not worth it. Unless it's at some shack in New England or similar seaboard fishing village with butter slippery floors and cheap beer.
Otherwise, I'd just assume head over to Flexi's house for a good home cooked lobster dinner. -
michpenOMG, I should have posted what I was thinking earlier, which is that DR is going to try to say he comes to my house. Sometimes I am just clairvoyant (or DR is just predictable).
It's nice to see you still have the love for me, DR. It warms my cold heart :-)
Also, I miss your JoBro avatar. Just sayin' -
veetsI have no idea what DR's comment about.."Hope you didn't bruise your knees down there means" but since the OP asked the question and got recommendations, and had dinner, I don't see any reason to keep this thread going. Outta here. -

going to buttermilk channel for dinner tomorrow night, their menu looks amazing -
slopestarBuy some lobster at red hook lobster pound, steam them yourself, and laugh all the way to the bank. Seriously, steaming lobster is about as tricky as cooking pasta, I do not understand why anyone would ever buy one in a restaurant... Don't have a car? You could take a cab to red hook and back and still save money compared to restaurant prices.

longtimesloperNever heard of red hook lobster pound, just checked out their website, will have to go down there one day -
staceySlopestar do you remember how much they charge for the whole lobsters? This thread has left me with a craving for it now. -
gratefulThe prices vary at Red Hook Lobster Pound depending on what the going rate is up in Maine where he gets them. Last time we had them they were $8.50/lb. The lobsters themselves were absolutely delicious. We had friends over who grew up on the Cape and they rivaled anything they'd had before.
The owner is also very cool...
