Good place for lobster in Park Slope (not Fish Camp)

$9 a lb seems high considering we're supposedly at a "lobster surplus," however I love the name Lobster Pound so I may check it out

I hate traveling into Manhattan just for dinner, but when I really want shell fish done right, I usually go to the Union Square area to City Crab or Blue Water Grill -- I prefer them both to Blue Ribbon and Fish Camp. And I hate to confess it, but the awful truth is I've had amazingly tasty lobster deals at Red Lobster.
I don't hate blue ribbon or fish camp -- I just don't love them as much as these shell fish places in Manhattan.

When I really "need" lobster and can't go to Manhattan, I use www.menupages.com to find local Asian restaurants that serve it or buy live lobsters at Fairway or buy fresh lobster tail and claw meat for salad from a place on 7th Avenue near 3rd Street. Fairway sometimes has live lobster sales that let you spend less than $20 for more lobster than 2 people can eat in one sitting.

We tried going to Buttermilk Channel last night but they were packed and it was a 30 minute wait, so, we weren't able to eat there. Going to try again tonight.

Went to Red Hook Lobster Pound, they were out of lobster salad, which is what I wanted, but, they have some today, going to pick it up later. Can't wait!

Sidecar had a lobster appetizer Thursday night. My bf thought it was really good (I don't eat seafood so I couldn't tell you what I think). You could call and check to see if they have it that evening.

This is admittedly off-topic, but I had a bacon-wrapped lobster sausage appetizer at Blue Water Grill in Union Square a few weeks ago. It was to die for!

got a pound of lobster salad from the lobster pound today and it was amazing! Pure huge chunks of lobster, excellent!

By the way, for anyone interested, the price for lobster today at the red hook pound was $8.25 a lb.
